Late Thursday night my mom called, "reminding" me that I had a dentist appointment on Saturday morning. ANOTHER weekend in Random. That's 3 of the past 5 weekends in Random Lake, and none of the past 5 in Madison.
Friday night I "went out" to the new pizzaria in town. It just opened and it's a young guy not from the area. Apparently he has beer from all over the world. Due to the bus situation, I didn't arrive until 10:35PM and the pizzaria sign said it closed at 11. I still sat down with Nate for a $2.50 spotted cow. Hit the spot. The owner comes over and we start chatting. Not only does he have international beer, he has international experiences, and he lives in random lake! To start off one of his stories he brought over some Spatan and finished another tale with some Sapporo. That's right, he lived in Japan for awhile. As I look at the clock, I notice the time is steadily marching past midnight. I asked him why he didn't have the place open later. He stated that he would if more people like us showed up. It sucks that a good bar with great food is struggling, especially since the other shitty, smokey, deep-fried bars are doing so well. Well, after a good amount of beers, Nate and I finally walked home. Yet another astonshing accomplishment for the crazed, drunk-driving loonies of random.

Madison has the smoking ban now though, which is awesome. Say goodbye to smokey bars, hello to girls with perfume that I probably was able to smell 9 beers ago. give me a call when you are back in Madison
