To new heights I shall rise
NYC is done. It's funny, but the best times I had weren't with @ers. Not sure why this comes as that big of a surprise as most of the @ers in NYC aren't from NYC. Not till I met up with Lyna did I start to experience some New York culture. Clubs are nice, but they're normal for me. Shisha bars are the same now. I needed something new and different.

We went to a small, very small, American Legion Hall in Harlem. All night long, local musicians came to the hall and jammed together playing some of the best blues I've ever heard. I haven't thought about how much I miss playing my own sax until that night. Some of the impromptu songs were just phenomenal

I also met a crazy drummer that plays in Japan. Jazz is definitely American. I never thought Japan would have a Jazz audience. I'm always learning something new, especially when I'm not expecting it. I talked with him for at least 45 minutes about Japanese culture and places he's been and places I should go. I got his bus card, since he plays in Kobe and Osaka which will be near me in Japan. (I'm getting anxious)

Also, Omar, you're awesome. I had a great talk, but our paths diverged after the first night, otherwise, you might have made more than the endnote of this entry.;-)
